Recognized Excellence

Robert is a Professional Associate (a peer-reviewed recognition) of the American Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works (AIC). Robert has a graduate degree in the conservation of objects and a BFA in sculpture. He has over 20 years of training in fine art, craft, art history, chemistry, and material science which enables him to properly evaluate, document, treat, and care for objects. The first goal is to preserve, while often also restoring the visual unity, without altering the historic nature of an object.

Through his business, Cascadia Art Conservation Center, LLC (CACC), Robert works with municipal collectors, universities, museums, and private collectors in approaching conservation including traditional conservation treatments and the preservation of artworks through preventative approaches.

We help people create a living environment that speaks intimately of those who dwell there, honors the architectural legacy of their home, and makes it an important part of their own personal history.

Our projects range from full home restoration to the decoration of a single room. Our consultations assist people in understanding their home's architectural history so they can make the best decisions in retaining its integrity while making it comfortable to live in today. We specialize in design, color consultation, one of a kind hand-painted friezes and artwork primarily for historic homes.
