We are your local “English Silversmiths” for all your restoration needs. We offer repairing, polishing, and re-silvering for all your heirloom pieces. We can polish all metals; pewter, copper brass, aluminum, steel, zinc, nickel silver, silver, and gold. We are able to perform soft soldering on soft metals, and we also are crafted in silver and gold soldering.

About Jim Mackie

Jim Mackie, the silversmith, has been at his craft since 1974, with three of those years training as a goldsmith. With his goldsmith knowledge he brings his ability in the use of lost wax, casting, setting of stones, and gold soldering. He uses this art to reproduce missing parts for your silverware and hollowware pieces.

He is also an excellent wood craftsman and incorporates that into projects as needed; broken wooden handles, cane shafts, finials, etc.

About Sharon Mackie

Sharon Mackie is the studio manager and Jim’s wife, and brings with her a passion for researching maker marks, identification of flatware patterns, and advice on silver care so that you may use your pieces without worry.

She also performs all the polishing, re-silvering, and gold plating besides happily greeting you in the reception area to tell you about the pieces you have brought in.

Special care combined with exceptional levels of experience are always taken to insure the highest quality results for all restorations. Our work ranges from antique placesettings and classic dishware, to more sophisticated pieces, accessories and decorative displays. working on new construction, we strive to incorporate the qualities that people cherish in historic homes, making for more intimate, comfortable and homey dwelling spaces.
